Happy World Pangolin Day

Here at Barry M, we love our wildlife. Today is World Pangolin Day and we wanted to spread some pangolin love to help raise awareness of these unknown animals. With over one million pangolins believed to have been traded illegally in the last decade; it’s time to save our wildlife and help these beautiful creatures.
What is a pangolin you may ask? Pangolins remain relatively unknown to most people; however, they are actually the most trafficked animal in the world. Used for medicinal purposes, meat and wearable goods, pangolins are under serious threat.

In 2016, all eight species of pangolin were re-classified at CITES to give them the highest level of protection, however illegal trade is still ongoing; in 2017, China made the biggest recorded seizure of pangolin scales at 11.9 tonnes, which is the equivalent of around 20,000 pangolins.
